Some planning companies may markup operating expenses or subcontracted items such as equipment rentals, transportation, and and other miscellaneous items by as much as 15-20%. In addition, you may find seasoned planning companies that collect fees from certain vendors who offer commissionable rates on bookings (similar to a travel agent).
